So for example if i set up some engines called "Googleplex_Starthinker", "Stockfish" and "Deep_Blue" the i can let them play a round robin tournament with this command:Ĭutechess-cli -games 2 -rounds 50 -openings file=./Blitz_Testing_4moves.pgn order=random -repeat -each tc=40/60+1 -engine conf=Googleplex_Starthinker -engine conf=Stockfish -engine conf=Deep_Blue Platform: Windows only, but runs fine with Wine. with that name you can specify this engine in cutechess-cli and it also gets the uci options you specifed in the cutechess-GUI. The way i do it is installing an engine in the cute chess gui. Is there meant to be any functionality for showing the results of past tournaments and recording the games played in the tournament?įirst if you don't know yet, if you type "cutechess-cli -help" you get a description for the things you can do, So far I have avoided time losses by setting the margin to 9999ms (it doesn't allow any bigger setting).Īfter closing and reopening cutechess (see 2), my previous tournament is completely gone, the Tournament > Results window is blank, and the Game Database is blank. Is there a setting to disable losing on time? If the engine takes too long to move I'd like the match to continue anyway. (The menus are all disabled except for "Help"). Is it possible to stop or adjudicate the game in progress? I could not find any way to do so, other than closing the whole program. Board editor GUI to easily create/explore custom positions. I recommend Stockfish (see below for easy installation instructions) 2. Easily connect to any UCI-compatible external chess engine.

Why does the evaluation show as -ve for Black when White is winning? (Every other chess program I've used, including UCI CLIs, shows a negative evaluation to mean Black is winning, but apparently in cutechess it means the opponent is winning or something). I've just started trying to use CuteChess (GUI) for an engine match and have some questions.
